There is nothing quite like the joy of capturing a surprise proposal, and Gabby and Jeremy’s was one for the books! As a St. John’s photographer, moments like these remind me why I love what I do.


Set at the breathtaking Serenity Woods bunkie just outside St. John’s, Newfoundland, this engagement session was filled with magic, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos.


Jeremy had a plan, and behind the scenes, Melissa, Chris, and Megan were the real MVPs, making the vision come to life. They worked to transform the woods into a fairytale setting, preparing every last detail to surprise Gabby.


They were about to take a selfie to celebrate their handiwork when a car approached up the driveway into Serenity Woods. Everyone scattered and ran behind the cottage to stay out of sight! "Go in the woods, go in the woods!!" one of them shouted. Thankfully, Melissa had just set up a camera to film the whole thing for Gabby, so this hilarious and heartfelt moment is now forever documented!


As Gabby stepped into the woods and saw the scene Jeremy had planned, the emotion was overwhelming. There were tears, laughter, and of course, a "Yes"! After the excitement had settled and their family said their goodbyes, Jeremy and Gabby stayed back to soak in the moment. They danced, laughed together, cried a little, and celebrated the start of this beautiful next chapter of their story.


It was the kind of evening that reminds me why being an engagement photographer is such a dream. Capturing the real, unscripted emotions of love stories like this is what it is all about.
